Wells Fargo Teaches Budget and Credit Management Class
Earlier this month, Ripsime Manukyan (Tarzana Branch Manager), Sarmen Hairapetian (Canoga Park Branch Manager), and Dominique Bagherloo (Topanga Village Branch Manager) of Wells Fargo taught a budget and credit management class to 15 first-time homebuyers who will soon be living in our Santa Clarita Enriched Neighborhood® for veterans.
While budget and credit management education is important for everybody, it is especially important for low-income families, with veterans facing specific challenges such as fiduciary abuse by a family member while in service, predatory lending, and issues that may be caused by last-minute deployments and frequent transfers.
As part of our enrichment service programming, we offer one-on-one and online financial education on an ongoing basis. However, in-person group classes such as these really help open a dialogue between families and experts to get specific questions answered, and bring to a family’s attention questions that they didn’t even know they had.
Thank you to Ripsime, Sarmen, Dominique, and Wells Fargo for helping to prepare our military families for home ownership. An additional thank you to the Chatsworth Veteran Center for letting us host at your facility!
