On Saturday, August 17th, Homes4Families, the Santa Clarita Rotary, a generous army of Rotarian volunteers, and the Santa Clarita Mentors to the Centre Pointe Veterans, joined to welcome a multitude of families from this recently completed 78-home all Veteran community and two families from the newly forming Palmdale 56-home all Veteran neighborhood to a Pancake and sausage breakfast at the neighborhood astroturf basin. Joining in were two families from the newly forming Palmdale 56-home all Veteran neighborhood.
One significant moment occurred when Centre Pointe Veteran homeowner, Dominic Macaya reunited with Palmdale future homeowner Juan Bran and his family. Dominic and Juan had met six years ago at the VA Vet Center where they were receiving services for war-related issues. They had lost touch with one another and were ecstatic at finding each other today.
In all the amazing large team of Rotarians served over 85 breakfasts. The enclosed play area allowed the Veteran neighborhood children to run and frolic while their parents could relax and visit with neighbors and new friends while they ate and the children played.
Thank you to the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary Club and their awesome volunteers!
Thank you to the Mentors — you give so much of yourselves and your time to this Veteran community.
