These families will make monthly payments less than what it costs on average to rent a single bedroom apartment in Los Angeles County. The Homes 4 Families program provides the opportunity for veterans and their families to move out of the substandard one bedroom apartments & parents guest bedrooms, and move up to having a home with built-in equity; making them prime candidates to be on their way to the middle class instead of being at risk of homelessness. Each of these families are deserving of this opportunity through their service and, in addition, have all completed required workshops in Financial Education, Trauma-Informed Military Family Care, Home Maintenance, Understanding Insurance, Health & Wellness, Understanding Homeownership, and more.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_style” images=”4131,4132,4133,4134″ onclick=”link_no” img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”2/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]The six families that got their keys are excited and grateful to be in their new homes. They also stand at the ready for the responsibility and challenges that life brings all low-income families. Understanding their budgets and learning how to stick to them through our program is now a reality and they have the support system of their fellow neighbors, 60 in total, veteran families that can work together to meet the challenges of daily life. Each of them has the tools to support each other when another might be struggling. Homes for Families also remains available to each of them through our My TIME Center which continues to provide services that they may need, especially Trauma-Informed care, for Military families. Even though you might not be able to see something like PTSD all military families, or anyone who knows someone who has served, knows that it is something that is with you for life. Even though trauma may always be there, through supportive services and hope for a better future they can minimize symptoms and take control of their daily lives. A big part of that is living with other families that understand, respect, and care for each other in ways that only people who have had similar life experiences truly can.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”4136″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”4138″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”4139″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”2/3″ tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][vc_column_text]Homes 4 Families is continuing to work hard to build homes for other low-income military families but we continue to need your help. Many of us have a sister, an uncle, a brother, a daughter, a mom, or a dad who have served in our military and even if we don’t all of us know that they and their families deserve a chance to become self-sufficient. Many of them did not get the chance to make the mistakes others did in youth with credit or banking. They have had to step up their whole lives to make things better for themselves. Now they come home and they find that they still behind the learning curve in civilian life if they want to succeed. Our goal is to prevent homelessness by providing an opportunity for military families to move up the economic ladder and to join forces with you so we can help military families to build resiliency, neighbors, better futures, and homes for veteran families.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
