This month we would like to recognize a new volunteer who has brought huge support to Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV through new association groups and was also a big supporter of our BBQ for the Troops event last month: Charlie Hooker!
Charlie has been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV since the early planning phases of the BBQ of the Troops event that was held on November 9th, 2013. Charlie is the Commander of the Military Officers of World Wars San Fernando Valley and Omar Bradley Chapters and a member of the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Club. Both organizations came out to help at the event, MOWW sponsoring some of the food and materials needed for the event, and Kiwanis of Thousand Oaks came out with the Santa Clarita Valley and Chatsworth Chapters to cook and serve the hot dogs and chips in the Kids Carnival area.
Charlie also provided the flags of military service that were shown on stage during the USO Show and the American Flag at the morning groundbreaking ceremony.
Charlie and the MOWW plan to continue supporting Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV, through support at events, fundraising, and volunteering to mentor and support out newest homeowners.
Thank you Charlie!! We could not do all that we do without you and your clubs’ support!
